Should We be Prejudiced?

In light of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, our title question is an appropriate one. Prejudice is defined as an illogical over-generalization about any group of people. For example, it might be said, “All Hispanics are dishonest” or “All blacks are great athletes” or “All whites are racists” or “All poor people are lazy.” But there is just no evidence to back such beliefs up! That is why such stereotypes are illogical, unscientific, unbiblical, and sinful (Acts 10:34-35; James 2:1-4).
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ died for all men of every race (Matt. 28:19). Galatians 3:28 teaches of the church, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” The gospel is truly for all, and all people of whatever race or social class are welcome at the Dexter Church of Christ.
