Youth Rally Time!

by Travis L Quertermous

From The Reminder, February 27, 2011

Well the time is nearly here! Our annual youth rally, Inspiration ‘11, kicks off this Friday night and continues all day Saturday. Our youth deacons, Mark Jacques and Stacy Mangum, have worked very hard in planning this year’s event. Many others have worked hard as well in different areas to make our youth rally a success. In addition, many, many prayers have been offered to God for His blessings upon Inspiration ‘11.

We have an outstanding keynote speaker again this year, brother Lonnie Jones of Huntsville, AL. This is his first time to be with us, but he speaks at a number of youth rallies each year and is very highly recommended by sound brethren. His theme is “Spiritual Self Identity: How to be Spiritual in a Physical World.” What a great and needed theme! Lonnie has three great lessons planned to help us all be more spiritually-minded.

In addition, we have a great line-up of teachers for children of all ages.  This includes the adult class, which will be taught this year by brother Edd Sterchi, who is the preacher for the Jackson Church of Christ. In addition, brother Ryan Scherer will be back this year to lead our singing. The gospel singing at our youth rally, with so many young voices praising God, is a little foretaste of heaven!

Are you planning now to attend every session of the youth rally possible? Have you been praying for the success of the youth rally? Have you volunteered to help? Have you invited your friends to attend? Flyers are available now to hand out. Have you volunteered to house the girls who will need it Friday night? There is still work to be done and we all need to work together.

A big thanks to everyone who has helped out with Inspiration ‘11! And may God receive all the glory!
