God's Hall of Fame

Recently, I conducted a gospel meeting for the Rittman Church of Christ in Rittman, OH, which is near Cleveland. While there, the local preacher and his wife took me to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which is in Cleveland, OH. The next day they took me to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in nearby Canton, OH. I thoroughly enjoyed both visits and saw many rare and unique items.
But did you know God also has a Hall of Fame? You can read about it in Hebrews Chapter 11. This passage has been called by many commentators and preachers “Faith’s Hall of Fame” and it is easy to understand why. Enrolled in this hall of fame are spiritual giants like Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and many others. And how did they qualify for enshrinement therein? It was because of their unquestioning obedient faith in God and His word. Consider Noah as an example: “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith” (Heb. 11:7).
On the Day of Judgment, Jesus will add thousands more to His Hall of Fame as He reads the names of the saved from the Book of Life. If that day were today, would your name be called or would you be enshrined forever in the devil’s hall of shame?
